Market Entry with a Focus on Business Customers

The Chinese electric car manufacturer Zeekr is specifically targeting commercial use for its German market launch. The focus is on companies that want to electrify their vehicle fleets and attach particular importance to plannable costs and reliable technology.

According to Lothar Schupet, the German company car market is one of the most demanding in Europe. Business customers primarily evaluate vehicles based on economic efficiency and suitability for everyday use. This is precisely where Zeekr comes in with its offer and tries to position itself early in this segment.

Direct Sales and Establishment of a Service Network

Instead of a classic dealer network, Zeekr relies on a digital ordering model. Customers can configure and order vehicles directly, while personal contacts are available if required.

For maintenance and repair, the company works together with GAS Global Automotive Service. At market launch, around 40 service points are available; in the medium term, this network is to be expanded to approximately 100 locations.

The partner workshops handle test drives, regular maintenance, and short-term repairs. The goal is to ensure sufficient coverage for commercial customers despite a relatively short market presence.

Clear Price Structure without Additional Options

A central feature of the offer is the deliberately simplified pricing. Vehicles are delivered with extensive standard equipment, so additional options are hardly necessary.

This is particularly relevant for fleet operators, as the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is often in the foreground when selecting vehicles. Reduced complexity in configuration facilitates cost planning and makes offers more comparable.

In contrast to many established premium manufacturers, Zeekr largely dispenses with chargeable individual options and instead relies on pre-configured equipment packages.

Model Range and Price Positioning

Several models are available in Germany at launch, including the Zeekr X, the Zeekr 7X, and the Zeekr 001.

The entry-level price for the Zeekr X is 37,990 Euros, while the larger 7X is offered from 54,990 Euros. The 001 model is positioned even higher. All variants benefit from tax advantages in the German company car model, which makes them additionally attractive for companies.

Test drives are already possible in several cities such as Munich, Berlin, and Hamburg, giving potential customers direct access to the vehicles.

Technological Basis and Charging Performance

The vehicles are based on a platform from the Geely group, which integrates various components such as battery, drive, and software.

A newly presented model, the Zeekr 7GT, illustrates the brand's technical direction. It uses an 800-volt system, achieves a range of up to 655 kilometers, and offers a power of 475 kW (646 hp).

Under optimal conditions, large amounts of energy can be recharged in a short time: within about 10 minutes, energy for approximately 340 kilometers of driving can be absorbed.

Adaptation to European Requirements

According to the manufacturer, the vehicles have been specifically adapted to European road conditions. This includes adjustments to the chassis, steering, and accelerator pedal to meet the requirements on highways and for high annual mileages.

First driving impressions show a balanced combination of acceleration and driving stability. At the same time, importance was attached to intuitive operation, especially of the infotainment system.

Standard Equipment as a Competitive Factor

Another component of the strategy is the extensive standard equipment. Depending on the model, this includes, among other things, large light-alloy wheels, panoramic glass roofs, modern lighting systems, heat pumps, air suspension, and extensive assistance systems.

This equipment policy largely eliminates the need for customers to choose additional extras. This not only simplifies the purchase process but also ensures uniform vehicle configurations within fleets.

Outlook on Development in Germany

With its focus on commercial customers, Zeekr is pursuing a clearly structured market entry in Germany. Transparent prices, extensive equipment, and a growing service network form the basis of this strategy.

In the long term, it will be crucial how reliably service, spare parts supply, and customer support function. Only when these factors are convincing can the brand permanently assert itself against established competitors in the premium segment.
