Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the usage, operation, access, and handling of all EVDANCE EV chargers and EV extension cable products (“Products”). By installing, accessing, operating, or using our Products, you (“User”, “You”) fully accept and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Return & Refund Policy, and Limited Warranty Policy. These Terms are designed to be fully compliant with EU consumer directives, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, applicable electrical safety regulations, GDPR, and ePrivacy requirements.
1. General Product Usage Rules
EVDANCE EV chargers and charging extension cables are designed exclusively for private domestic EV charging use, for compatible personal electric vehicles only. You expressly agree:
- To use the Products only for their intended purpose and in strict accordance with the official user manual and local electrical codes;
- Not to overload, over-power, or exceed the rated current, voltage, and power specifications of the charger or extension cable;
- Not to operate the device outdoors in unsuitable or extreme weather conditions (including heavy rain, snow immersion, flooding, or extreme humidity) if the specific product model is not explicitly rated with the appropriate IP weatherproofing scale for outdoor use;
- To thoroughly inspect and keep the charging ports, cables, plugs, and connectors clean, dry, and free from damage, dust, or foreign objects before every single use.
2. Strict Safety Rules for EV Extension Cables (EU & UK Standard Compliance)
Due to stringent EU and UK electrical safety regulations (including IEC 62196, IEC 60309, and BS 7671 standards), EV charging extension cables require strict compliant usage to completely avoid overheating, electrical arcing, and fire hazards. You explicitly acknowledge and agree to the following safety rules:
- EVDANCE extension cables are certified professional EV charging components and may only be used with fully compatible EV chargers and electric vehicles;
- Do not daisy-chain multiple extension cables: Connecting two or more EV charging extension cables in series is strictly prohibited under any circumstances;
- Do not roll, coil, loop, or fold the cable tightly during an active charging session, as coiled cables generate severe electromagnetic induction and heat accumulation, causing catastrophic safety risks;
- Do not bury, cover, trap, or compress the cable under floors, carpets, vehicle tires, or heavy static objects;
- Do not operate or attempt to use any products that are visibly damaged, cracked, peeled, deformed, or showing signs of structural wear;
- Commercial, continuous high-frequency public charging usage is strictly prohibited for domestic-grade extension cables.
3. Installation & Operation Requirements
Fixed EV charging stations (Wallboxes) must be installed exclusively by a qualified, licensed professional electrician in full compliance with local EU or UK wiring regulations (such as BS 7671 Part P for the United Kingdom). Any improper installation, self-modification, DIY wiring changes, or use of non-original accessories will immediately void all manufacturer warranties and may result in severe electrical hazards, property damage, or legal liability.
Users are required to inspect the charger, cable, plug, and supply socket before each charging session. If abnormal noise, excessive overheating, sparking, electrical leakage, or error codes occur, the user must stop use immediately, safely disconnect the equipment if possible, and contact EVDANCE customer support.
4. Prohibited Usage (User Violation List)
The following actions are strictly forbidden. Any damage, operational fault, or safety incident caused directly or indirectly by these prohibited usages shall be the sole legal and financial responsibility of the user:
- Disassembling, modifying, cutting, splicing, altering internal firmware, or attempting third-party repairs on the product without express official written authorization from EVDANCE;
- Using the product with incompatible electric vehicles, mismatched grid power supplies, or non-standard/unapproved third-party charging adapters;
- Consistently overloading or running the product beyond its clearly labelled maximum rated electrical parameters;
- Using the product for commercial rental schemes, public paid charging services, or heavy industrial use if the product is explicitly labelled for domestic consumer use;
- Operating the device with broken, exposed, or damaged internal wiring;
- Using or storing the product in highly flammable, explosive, volatile, or corrosive chemical environments.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
All designs, industrial designs, texts, images, logos, technical specifications, schematics, safety manuals, app interfaces, and firmware related to EVDANCE Products are the exclusive intellectual property of EVDANCE. No user or third party may copy, distribute, reproduce, commercially resell, reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify any part of our product content, hardware structure, firmware code, or design layouts without our explicit prior written permission.
6. Data & Smart Device Compliance (GDPR & UK Regulations)
Certain smart charger models utilize network connectivity to collect minimal device operational metrics (such as charging logs, energy consumption, temperature data, and error codes) solely for normal device functionality, remote fault diagnosis, and mandatory over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates. All data processing operations are executed in strict compliance with the EU GDPR and UK GDPR. No personally identifiable data will ever be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for commercial marketing purposes. Your data rights are fully protected under our official Privacy Policy.
UK Smart Charge Points Compliance: For smart charging products sold within the United Kingdom, EVDANCE strictly complies with the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021, incorporating mandatory cybersecurity protocols, randomized delay functions, and pre-set default off-peak charging hours. Users maintain the full right to manually modify, customize, or override these default smart charging profiles via the official application.
7. Limitation of Liability & User Responsibility
Mandatory Legal Reservation: Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude EVDANCE's liability for death or personal injury caused directly by our proven negligence, or for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other statutory liability that cannot be lawfully limited, excluded, or restricted under mandatory UK and EU consumer protection laws.
Subject to the legal reservation above, You acknowledge that improper, negligent, or prohibited use of high-voltage EV charging equipment may lead to catastrophic electrical faults, fire risks, or property damage. EVDANCE shall not be legally or financially liable to the user or any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or property damage, loss of vehicle use, financial loss, injury, or equipment malfunction caused by:
- User misuse, abuse, negligence, or explicit violation of any safety rules outlined in these Terms or the accompanying user manual;
- Unqualified DIY installation or unauthorized structural modifications by non-licensed individuals;
- External power surges, grid instability, fluctuating supply voltage, force majeure events, natural disasters, or faults in third-party electrical infrastructure/vehicles;
- Normal wear and tear, cosmetic degradation, and natural material aging after long-term conventional use;
- Failure to perform basic daily maintenance or follow official safety update instructions.
8. Warranty & Return Relation
Any proven violation of these Terms of Use, safety guidelines, or prohibited usage lists will result in the immediate and total voidance of all product warranties. It may also disqualify the user from return or refund eligibility in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy and Limited Warranty Policy. Legally protected statutory consumer guarantee rights under EU and UK law are not excluded, limited, or affected by these Terms.
9. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Compliance
In strict accordance with the EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) and the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013, our Products are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. This legally signifies that end-of-life EV chargers, components, and charging extension cables must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal household waste. Users are responsible for disposing of these items at designated community collection points, civil amenity sites, or local recycling facilities to ensure proper environmental mitigation and green resource recovery.
10. Policy Updates
EVDANCE reserves the right to amend, update, or revise these Terms of Use at any time to maintain compliance with changing electrical codes, consumer laws, or technical upgrades. Any material modifications will be published transparently on our official website. Your continued use of the Product following the publication of updates constitutes complete and legally binding acceptance of the revised Terms.
